Worst management. I kept getting billed for a membership I had transferred. I would recommend signing up at a different location. Not only did I have to call numerous times in regards to why I was being billed, but the Prairie Life in Omaha had to as well. Don't recommend it to anyone.
I had my credit card stolen and my automatic payment lapsed. Instead of notifying me and working with me to get my automatic payment corrected, I was charged some pretty hefty late fees. I decided to quit after that and instead joined another gym with no monthly contract. Pretty ridiculous...
No Free month that was advertised! On September 9th 2010, I went into the Prairie Life center located at 330 West P Street, Due to the fact that the center had a big advertisement on the side of the building offering the first month Free with new membership When I signed up.I was required to pay $85.60. Membership fees plus the partial month fees of September.I asked about the free month I was to receive and was told I would receive October for free. At the end of September I received a billing statement. This statement showed the breakdown of the fees when I Joined and a months dues dated September 20th, In October I received my statement with a monthly dues dated October 20th , In November my statement showed another monthly dues dated November 20th , and again in December I was charged the monthly dues dated December 20th, When I contacted them regarding my free month, I was told I would receive it at the end of my contract, so I canceled giving 30 days notice. Now they say I owe them $331.00 Where is the First month Free
Unfortunately, this gym is the closest to my home, therefore, I use it. PLF West is extremely outdated with meager equipment that is generally broken/falling apart. I've always known the gym to smell like a rank, old gym locker. The West location, for what it has to offer, is extremely over priced. I often have found myself wondering if someone has trouble paying their bills, as it is ridiculously hot during the summer months. And avoid the weekends at all costs when PLF West holds extremely loud classes on the second floor that can be painful to the ears & literally shakes the whole establishment. The fatal flaw that takes the cake, is that this location is staffed with disengaged, characterless, and rude people who think too highly of themselves. One of the personal trainers actually kicked a dumbbell at me, because it was simply in her way, rather than pick it up & place it on the rack! The only employee who was nice, understanding and conversational is Joann. The 70th location is much nicer, however, the painful truth of it all is, if you join @ the West P location, and for some reason find yourself wanting to work out at, or switch to the 70th location, you will be charged a day rate of $3 or be forced to renew your contract at a higher monthly rate! *Ridiculous!* If you have the convenience of being near to another gym, save your money, sanity & time and join elsewhere!
