Definitely a Mom's gym. If your a gym rat, this is not the gym for you. There are no BARBELLS, so you are forced to squat, bench press and dead lift using the smith machine. And we all know smith machines are for whimps. There is a time limit on some of the leg machines which is ridiculous. The gym is targeting first time gym goers and is not for the avid gym rat. I would expect body builders to loose at least 20-35 pounds with the equipment they are forced to train with in here. Metaphorically speaking, Good Life would be a two wheeler, and this gym would be tricycle......no a scooter.
Went there on opening night. Good staff, clean place with lots of new machines. Can't beat $10/month. Suits most 'regular' people's needs, but a few things to mention: 1) No Olympic bars, meaning to have to either use a Smith machine or free weights to bench and you will have to squat with the Smith machine also. This also means no deadlifts, clean/jerks, and any other exercises involving the Olympic bar. The free weights go up to 75 lbs. 2) Although they had lots of ab machines, they did not have mats for ab workouts on the first night but the rep said he planned to speak to the manager to get some soon. 3) There is an alarm that goes off if someone drops weights, acts like a goon, etc. and repeated offenders get kicked out. So if you're deadlifting 500 pounds, this is not the gym for you. If you just want to get in shape and use machines or free weights, $10/month with a contract you can cancel anytime is a good deal any way you look at it.
Likes: Price Location 24 hours! New & Clean Variety of equipment Dislikes: Peak hours are incredibly busy. Not enough lockers during peak hours. Changing area is quite small and gets crowded during peak hours. There are still some knuckle heads despite the ethos, and some members that take up benches socializing or on their phones while others wait.
Recently got a $10 per month membership with a $30 annual membership free. The cheapest gym in the city. Has all of the basics one would need and for those of us on a budget - is a great choice. There are locker rooms with day use lockers, bathroom areas, and shower areas. There are tons and tons of cardio machines, many different types. There are free weights and lots of weight machines. There smaller areas for specific work outs and a stretching area. I've been to many gyms in the city and I like this one the best.
Best Gym ever, especially for people that never been to a gym or felt intimidated , The staff are, great, and it looks like a High end environment gym, I love that, you don't feel judge :)
