LA Fitness

Unprofessional and RACIST staff. The manager named "Mike Mashall" has absolutely no management and more importantly sales skills. When asked about the printing the contract he would not do it at all because he would not be able to scam me. Either way I signed up for it because he PUBLICLY told me to stop being cheap with the money and disrespected my ethnic background. I have been a member for like four months now. If you ever cared for your money, it ain't a good choice to go there. The first time I went to register, they will create hussle and come to talk to you being like 12 so as to convince you to pick the expensive workout. For a personal reason I decided to stop my membership and what I found out was amazing. I was told my payment won't be reimbursed (but I was promised during my registration process) for those sessions that I didn't attend even if I quit now, they will charge me extra one month payment. I don't get it!! So do yourself a favor and never ever sign up for a personal trainer and pay unless they provide you with a written statement of everything they say they do, which I bet they won't.
I am a student in Ottawa and visited this gym over Christmas. Mike the general manager helped me out when I came in. I just wanted to try the gym out as I might be living in Toronto over the summer and I had never been to an LA Fitness before. Within about 10 minutes I had a 3 day trial and was on my way to working out. Staff: Very friendly and professional. Also did not try to shove a sign-up plan down your throat. They let the gym speak for itself. If this location was in Ottawa I would 100% sign up here. Gym: From free-weights to the locker room, everything is clean, maintained, and functional. This is a new location so all of the components are brand new. TVs on treadmills which is nice that you can plug your headphones into. 100% recommend at least checking this gym out. Cheers, Zak
I went in to LA Fitness today to get some information regarding the club and what it had to offer. I didn't sign up I only got a trial pass for a couple of days. The person that gave the pass was friendly and welcoming. I don't know how long she has been their, but she was not pushy about getting me to sign up and get a membership. This was the first time being in this LA Fitness since it opened up near home. I will give it some thought before signing up. In case anyone is interested you may want to ask for Kendell if you have any questions about signing up. She is at the #3003 Danforth Ave Location.
On my first orientation visit, I discovered a large, very clean gym with different workout areas that all are reached by the blue skies and sun filtering in the windows. The locker room will meet most/all possible needs and for the safety conscious there are key and wallet lockers within the gym itself in sight of staff and where you might workout. The staff were pleasant and quite accommodating. They asked if they could follow-up with me and did so politely. I waked by many times and have to say, you have to look inside to see how bright and nice the gym is inside!
Unfortunetly my experience is totally horrible from the moment I signed up for membership. First they were quoted $34.95 with $o zero dollar down month to month, no contract. Then when I went to buy membership I was quoted $44.95. Beside that I was promised to have a personal trainer go through my target & write down an action plan or, design a work out plan for six week. Right after I signed up they said its no longer available. I have to pay extra to buy personal trainer classes. Which is bunch of B.S. Because I was with L.A.Fitness in Norcross, Georgia & have experience how they designing your work out program for six, eight or, twelve weeks to follow. When I raised that issue Director of operation got really upset & trying to intimidate me & embarrass me right in front of other staff. I was talking to a membership associate & he jumped in out of no where & asked me very rudely " Is there a problem with you" as if he is ready to give me a ticket or, kicked me out of the club.I was shocked & almost fricked out to see his customer service skill. Yet he was kept yelling to prove he is the director of operation. I thought to myself am I in a concentration camp or, what? I hate this place & request people to be carful while you buying your membership from this location. I will be calling today to report the incident that took place yesterday & cancel my membership.
