Its a whatever gym just like any other BUT the way they treat you when you try to cancel is awful. I've been out of contract with them for well over a year and way paying month to month. Went in last week and tried to cancel and was told that I had to do it in writing - a pain but reasonable and understandable. So today I go there in person with my written cancellation letter, the manager is there as well as a bunch of clerks and they refuse to take the cancellation letter saying that it HAS to be mailed and postmarked directly to the same gym that im currently standing in. After being told that this was "legally required by their policy" I pointed out that I was out of contract and no-where in the contract did it require cancellation in this method - especially given that I was already out of contract. After much back and forth debate the lady there 1) offered to pay for a stamp (which is ridiculous in of itself) and 2) admitted that it was indeed stupid but she couldn't take it by company policy blah blah blah. My better side decided against storming the office and dropping the letter on the managers desk and instead I walked 200 yards to the fedex office and mailed the cancellation letter with a tracking number back to the gym that I was just standing in 200 yards away. Now they can say that they never got it or change me $20 for the gym key which is in the letter but its not I can get them to sign for it. STUPID policy and obviously the only reason its there is to deter people from cancelling and give them an excuse of "we never got your letter" and keep charging you.

Horrible customer service. They made an unauthorized transaction on my credit card and would not communicate with me. I went in person and they told me to call. I called and left messages, sent emails, and they never responded.

I was originally a member at the Express Fitness location on Craig and Decatur. The location closed without any notice to members. When I called to inquire about canceling my membership and stop billing, I was told that they no longer have any billing or membership information as it has been moved to the location on Ann Rd. I called multiple times to either receive a busy signal or continuous ringing. I then contacted my credit card company to put a block ok the charges from Express Fitness. After seeing a charge from them again this month, it appears that they have changed their billing company. I am beyond frustrated and can not deter people away from this company enough. Do NOT give them your business.
