I have children who wanted join OneLife since last year. One of my daughter was 12 years old last year who were told to come back after she became 13 years old. This year my daughter and I went back to Burke location OneLife on Dec. 2, 2014 to join. She was so excited until couple of reps told her that she can not join OneLife by herself until she becomes 16 years old and were told one of parent must be present on site thought the parent is a non-member. She decided to give up. On the way back home I encouraged her to join and said that I will be there for two hours for which she wants to exercise. Then she called back Burke OneLife toconfirm that by talking to one of rep. She wanted to go back next day. On Dec. 3, 2014, She went back with me and filled out a membership form. A manager came and said, "It is the LAW that a child under 16 years old must have a parent who must be a member of OneLife." I said, " Is it your company policy?" " We were here last year and yesterday and we were told she could join OneLife." " Now you are changing the story." The manager said that their staffs do not know their company policies and she is the manager who knows all since she is THE MANAGER. I then requested that a written policy indicating 13 years old can not join Onelife by him or herself. The manager brought a copy of policy and started reading. She did not find any clause indicating that 13 years old can not join OneLife without a parent who must be a member of OneLife. My daughter wanted leave Onelife site after she noticed I was upset. I left the OneLife site after ripping the registration form.
OneLife Fitness in general is an awesome gym, I've been a member for many years. This location has the friendliest staff, hands down. Other locations, the staff is snooty and very standoffish - this location, the staff, trainers, and managers are absolutely awesome. It's a smaller gym than some of the others, though - excellent range of equipment upstairs for lifters, good set of cardio downstairs, and they have a pool and a hot tub. The demographic is definitely older - with some downright creepy people in the locker rooms that are always - and I mean ALWAYS - naked. (This isn't a good thing) Otherwise, friendly people, good equipment, a pool, and decent boxing equipment will keep me going back.
The place is OVERCROWDED!!!
